2024-04-28 Makin Fined for Assault |
Chris Makin, 65, of Micklefield was found guilty of an assault of a ?persistent and prolonged nature? and fined him ?4,800 at Harrogate Magistrates Court on Thursday. The assault incident happened on 4th April 2023 when a group of local residents in Church Fenton gathered to try to stop contractors working for Makin ?crowning? trees. Makin was also ordered to pay a ?1,920 surcharge, ?775 costs and ?684 compensation to the victim Mr Mason. |

2024-02-21 Armed Police in Micklefield |
Armed police officers rushed to Micklefield after a disturbance on Sunday 18th February, which involved an attempted break-in at a house. Officers rushed to the scene at Garden Village, where they were told that suspects had attempted to force entry to a property. Armed police were deployed, but the suspects fled the scene. Enquiries are ongoing. |

2024-02-16 Grant for Church Grounds Maintenance |
Micklefield Parish Council have awarded a ?2592 grant to St Mary?s Church for Yard Maintenance. This will go towards cutting the grass around grave areas every two weeks, and other wider areas during the growing months. The money will also used in the cost of reinstating the path adjacent to the boundary with the old vicarage. |
